Impulse Heat Sealers

Impulse sealers are widely recognized as one of the most popular types of heat sealers due to their unique functionality. These sealers are equipped with a single heating element that is shielded by a layer of PTFE or Teflon, a fabric-like material that prevents the bag from adhering to the sealer. Unlike continuous heat sealers, the heating element in an impulse sealer is activated only when the jaws are closed and current flows through it. When using an impulse heat sealer, the jaws are closed, and pressure is maintained for the duration of the seal, indicated by the illuminated light. Following the sealing process, pressure is sustained for approximately 2 seconds to allow the seal to cool effectively. For clear thermoplastic plastic bags that are less than 125µ (125 micron or 500 gauge) and require sealing of two layers, impulse sealers are often the most suitable choice. Hand sealers, on the other hand, are ideal for low to medium usage scenarios due to their compact size and portability. These sealers typically offer a maximum seal length of up to 500mm and a seal width within the range of 2mm, with the option of including cutters.
